Last night I had no idea what to have for dinner, I just knew that it had to be home cooked. I don’t think we’ve been eating out much but I’m pretty sure the food in our fridge has been slowly deteriorating, and we’ve still been fed. Hmmm. We must be eating something! Anyway so I took some chicken and bacon out of the freezer and although we have no cream was going to make some kind of mishmash carbonara-ish dinner with some veg. Sounds appetising doesn’t it?
Of course I was procrastinating on twitter at the time.
And then I saw Kim from allconsuming had posted a pic of her dinner: ginger sesame chicken and rice. I decided that sounded tasty and was super convenient because we have ginger, sesame oil and seeds, chicken and rice… so I wandered off into the interwebs to find myself a recipe.
I stumbled upon her blog. And then I found out that it was a Bill Granger recipe. We love Bill in our household... haven’t cooked one of his recipes that we didn’t love. And then I discovered that the ingredients were pretty much as simple as it’s title and that it only uses one pot to cook it in. So many wins in such a short amount of time.
I’m not even going to write the recipe down, I’m just going to send you over to Kim’s post and you can see it for yourself. And then cook it for yourself. It’s divine. Go on, see for yourself!
So thanks Kim, thanks Bill and thanks Kate (as always) for hosting Thankful Thursday.
Ps Tom also cooked Bill’s chocolate peanut butter cookies that you can find at the bottom of Kim’s post. I was a good girl and didn’t try any but they smelled divine and Thomas reckons they taste amazing.
